Google Home has new 34 new actions

There were a handful of actions when the Google Home launched – it felt half-baked, and is lagging far behind what the Echo can do. Google opened their API up to developers at the beginning of December, allowing for developers to start building actions for the newest intelligent assistant.

For example, Dimonios has made its way to the Google Home – no surprise there, they’re thirsty for you to order from them. You can now tell Google “Okay Google, talk to Domino’s and get my easy order.” You’re even able to track your order by saying “OK Google, talk to Domino’s and track my order.”

Here are all 34 actions being added to the Google Assistant:

  • 21 Blackjack
  • Akinator the genie
  • Anchor
  • And Chill
  • Argus
  • Ask Jelly
  • busuu – language learning
  • CNBC
  • Domino’s
  • Eliza
  • ELLE Horoscopes by The Astro Twins
  • FitStar Personal Trainer
  • Food Network
  • Genius
  • Headspace
  • HuffPost Headline Quiz
  • itcher
  • Lonely Planet
  • NBC News
  • NPR One
  • Number Genie
  • Product Hunt
  • Quora
  • Quotery
  • SongPop
  • Sub War
  • Tender
  • The Bartender
  • The Wall Street Journal
  • Todoist
  • Trivia Blast
  • VentureBeat News
  • WebMD
  • Wonder

Google is also working on Android Things which will let other smart home platforms like Wink work straight out of the box with the Google Home, no need for IFTTT. In a few months, the Google Home could become a powerful smart home controller and have dozens of other useful features.

In the meantime, I’ll use my Google Home as a glorified timer. I’m also unsure what all 34 actions do, but I’ll read up on them through the Google Home app on your iPhone or Android device.

Tell us in the comments below – have you purchased a Google Home or were you waiting to see if Google will keep updating it?
