Snapchat Memories saves your favorite moments

Snapchat Memories is looking at no longer being an ephemeral place to share images and video with friends. What is Memories you ask? Memories is a new feature rolling out over the next month, which lets users save personal moments to a private library aka your camera roll within Snapchat.

Memories hides under the camera button. All you do is swipe up from the bottom to see saved images and videos where you can then search for locations or based on other terms. Then you can share those old snaps on with your friends or on your timeline.

Snapchat is making this move to appeal to older users who want to use the service but don’t understand disappearing images and videos.

You can use Memories to create new Stories from Snaps you’ve taken, or even combine different Stories into a longer narrative! It’s fun to celebrate an anniversary or birthday by finding a few old Snaps and stringing them together into a new Story 🙂

We’ve also created a new way to send Snaps from Memories to your friends, or even post them to your Story. If you post a Snap you took more than a day ago to your Story, it will appear with a frame around it so that everyone knows it’s from the past.

Memories are rolling out over the next month so that some users will get the update now, and others will have to wait weeks for the new feature. I know my girlfriend will rave at the feature because she’ll get to look back and see what she share years or weeks ago. Even though she saves many of the snaps to her phone, she still is unable to share them on her story or with friends.
