Galaxy Gear Now works With Galaxy S4, S III and Note II Following Update

Samsung finally announced that the Galaxy Gear will work with Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and the Galaxy Note II. This is all because of a small update rolling out to these phones that comes in the form of Android 4.3, which has started rolling out today. Samsung also mention their would be more support for their handsets all of which include the Galaxy S4 mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3 and S4 zoom.

Samsung at first only hand support for the Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1, which greatly limited the amount of users who could use the smartwatch. The increase in the amount of handsets that can sync with the Gear will increase sales for sure, but if Samsung moved to support non Android phones would increase the sales even more.

Samsung’s Gear is a flagship smartwatch that beat Apple and Google out of the gate, though the watch has been limited with few apps. The amount of handsets you can pair with the gear has gotten Samsung a lot of slack, but Samsung continues to say we’ll see more phones that support the Gear. Some rumors say that Samsung will release another Gear in the start of 2014, but its just a rumor right now.
