Bose launched an Indiegogo for noise-masking Sleepbuds

If you live in an urban environment with lots of noise or work nights and sleep during the day; you’ve struggled with sleeping. The best way to keep noise out while your sleeping is to use earplugs. Bose, on the other hand, wants to use technology to keep noise out whether your sleeping at night or during the day. The Bose noise-masking Sleepbuds launched an Indiegogo campaign as a way to field test the experimental earbuds.

The Bose Sleepbuds lean the company’s expertise in noise canceling technology and earbud design. The Sleepbuds use “sound masking” as a way to keep out unwanted noise, such as a dog barking, road noise, or a partner snoring. Those unwanted noises are masked with light rain, a thunderstorm, or ocean sounds.

Bose Sleepbuds will help anyone who works nightshifts sleep

The Sleepbuds connect to the Bose Sleep app on a smartphone where you can change the “masking” noise, volume level, noise duration, and check the battery levels. You’re even able to set an alarm on the earbuds, that you would only be able to hear. The noise masking sounds are all stored on the earbuds, which allows for a whole night of battery life. The charging case offers two nights of noise canceling.

Around 2,800 people didn’t mind paying $150 to $185 to test the new technology. I’m personally excited to see the Sleepbuds succeed. I keep odd hours and often sleep during the day, which means I wake up from the dog or baby.
