Honor launches the 6X – a budget friendly powerhouse

Huawei sub-brand Honor released the Honor 6X, a budget friendly powerhouse. The base model of the 6X is only $249, and the model with more RAM and storage is only $299. The base model comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the tier up includes 4GB of storage and 64GB of storage. For the price of the phone and it’s added features, you’re getting one of the best budget devices around.

The 5.5inch Full HD IPS isn’t anything close you’d get on an OLED screen, but it gets the job done. There’s a 12MP and a 2MP monochrome one to enable a wide aperture mode similar to that on the iPhone 7 Plus and Huawei Mate 9. The phone is running Android Marshmallow with an older 4.1 version of the company’s EMUI overlay. The company says the phone will get Android N and EMUI 5.0, but let’s not hold our breaths.

Overall the phone looks great, and the launch is likely to get everyone talking. We will have more coverage from CES 2017, and a full review of the phone coming this week!
