The Dell XPS 13 is one of the best Windows laptops around with its ultra thin bezel, only 5.2mm thick, thin and light body, and fair $899 starting price. I own an older generation Dell XPS 13. I compare the laptop to the MacBook Air in terms of price, size, and performance.
Now a leaked product page, first spotted by Windows Central, shows a Dell XPS 13 2-in-1. The new form factor keeps the same infinite display but adds in new hinges and improved Windows Hello compatible web camera, which still is just above the keyboard.
The Verge is reporting the specs of the laptop will include either an Intel Core i5 or i7 Kaby Lake generation, but it’s important to note these are not the traditional Core i processors. They’re the new name of the Intel Core M processors which don’t offer the same performance you might expect from the i5 or i7. There is now 2 USB-C ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port, a Micro-SD slot instead of a traditional SD slot, and no USB Type-A ports.
The XPS 13 2-in-1 will start at $999, a $100 more than the base XPS 13. There will be more news from Dell at CES, where we will also have hands on with the new laptops.
