Snap(chats) Spectacles have only been on sale for a few weeks now through their ingenious pop-up vending machines. If you don’t know, the sunglasses have a small wide angle camera built in the frame of the camera. This gives viewers a unique first person view which can rotate with the phone to extend the view of what you’re seeing.
Luckily one enterprising person has started a series on Snapchat revolving around go-kart racing called Spec Racers. The idea is you and two other friends pick one of the racers, add them on Snapchat, and experience the race. Hopefully, you pick the winner but if not, don’t fret, there will be new winners all week. The idea is based on the notion of having three different colored turtles, and three people pick which one they believe will win.
This is how you play:
- CLICK ON THE SNAPCODE OF THE COLOR YOU WANT TO RACE WITH.
- WHEN SNAPCHAT OPENS, CLICK ‘ADD FRIEND’ AND FIND YOUR RACERS STORY.
- AFTER YOU & A FRIEND EACH PICK A RACER CLICK THE STORY AT THE SAME TIME. MAKE SURE NOT TO SKIP.
The idea is a fun way to enjoy Spectacles circular video, especially if you or your friends haven’t snagged a pair. The gamify of experiencing Spectacles video will let you show grandma or your parents the new video format without trying to break it down for them.
