Let’s hunt on Product Hunt

Each week I round up the best product on Product Hunt for you to check out. There are dozens of new podcasts, hundreds of new apps, and many more products launched on Product Hunt Each week. It’s hard to keep up, but luckily for you, I spend most my day lurking on the site. There were many more hunts I wanted to include, but these were the top ones I loved.

If you don’t know what Product Hunt is, I wrote a little description to help you understand:

Product Hunt is a service where you can share and discover new products. The site was founded byRyan Hoover in November of 2013, with funding from Y Combinator. The basis of the site is users submit a fresh podcast, an innovative app, other tech products, or wild gadgets. From there other users upvote the products onto the front page. The whole process feels a lot like Reddit but with a focus towards discovering products within the technology community.

I’m active on Product Hunt as @leonhitchens, where you can follow me!

Let’s hunt together!

N26

N26 or also known as Number 26, is a mobile-first bank without any physical branches. This isn’t the first bank to try a system like this. Simple has tried this but mostly faded into the background. Everything you do with a bank doesn’t need a branch or need a desktop computer. Instead, everyone can be done on the phone. This means everything from managing your money, exchanging currency, to seeing instant notifications when you swipe your card.

Dots & Co

Dots & Co is a simple, beautiful, and fun puzzle game from the creators of TwoDots. The puzzle game is something you can do on the train, in the car, or on your lunch at work. While these games frustrate me and I don’t understand them, the creator behind this game makes amazing apps that look beautiful.

Petcube Bites + Petcube Play

Keeping our pets entertained while you’re not home is impossible. Yeah, you can watch them on a Nest camera and see they’re getting into things they’re not supposed. But using the Petcube Bites and Petcube Play is a Kickstarter campaign lets you remotely play with your dog with a laser or treat machine. The products look high quality and come in multiple colors so it can blend in your house.

Tinycards

Flashcards work when your studying, learning something or trying to memorize anything. The Tinycards app is gamifying flash cards by making each set of cards a little mini game where you start to unlock new card sets as you continue to memorize them. The app is completely free, and available on iOS but not on Android just yet. The cards are made professionally and come with great illustrations, and overall the app is beautifully designed and built.

My Slack Emoji

Slack is a valuable tool for my company. We use it for managing Trello, social media, and communicating with each other during and after the work day. We, of course, use Giphy, emojis, and a bunch of other integrations but the Slack Emoji is one of the coolest tools yet! The combination turns our profile pictures or other images into little emojis where you can send them for fun or just as a reaction.

Poke Radar

Tracking where Pokemon are is a hard and almost impossible task. You can never tell which ones are close or which ones are located in certain areas. There are crowdsourced maps or other maps that use information from social media. The Poke Radar is a real-time map on Google Maps which shows where all the Pokemon are. There is an app and desktop site so you can plan where you’ll Poke hunt the next day. It’s become a great tool when I’m looking for a rare Pokemon or when I’m just seeing where the Pokemon are hiding.
