On June 14, OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 3 through a VR event called The Loop. After the event, you can order the phone VR during an exclusive period before sales open on OnePlus’ website. The next day, seven pop-up shops will open in New York, London, Berlin, Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore.
At the pop-up shops, OnePlus fans have a chance to win free swag, play with the phone, and even purchase the OnePlus 3 “right then and there.” Being able to play with the phone the next day, and being able to purchase it right there and then is fantastic, but I wish the phone would have had more cities to try and test out the phone. If you’re in one of those cities, you should line up early because they’re likely be long lines.
The OnePlus 3 is going to be the first phone from OnePlus to not require an invite to buy. OnePlus is going to put a lot of marketing from pop-up shops to the VR launch to get customers riled up. The invite system created a sense of exclusivity, but without the system, the phone could look like another budget smartphone.
Tell us in the comments below what you think about the OnePlus 3 going on sale the day after the launch at select pop-up shops.
