It was only a week ago rumors started to swirl of a refreshed Macbook Pro with USB C, an OLED bar, and refreshed specs. Photo’s obtained by Cult of Mac, show an unfinished MacBook Pro chassis ahead of final assembly. The photo’s come suspiciously close to the first set of rumors, but if these leaked images are accurate, we could see a new MacBook Pro at WWDC but more likely later in the fall.
The unfinished MacBook Pro chassis also shows four USB-C ports and a headphone jack, with no other physical connections; no SD card reader or MagSafe 2. The photos suggest Apple’s next MacBook Pro is going to be a significant departure from the current MacBook Pro lineup, and take cues from Apple’s MacBook. Apple is switching all their ports for USB C, and luckily Apple includes more than one USB C port, but the biggest change could come when Apple introduces USB C to the iPhone.
Apple’s MacBook Pro has long been the professional laptop from the company, and a slimmer more powerful Macbook Pro could become an attractive choice for prosumers. If Apple does make us wait until the third quarter, which is likely during Apple’s September event, the company has more planned for us.
Tell us in the comments below if you’re excited for a refreshed MacBook Pro in the comments below! I can’t wait for the new models so I can purchase a new workhorse where I can edit my videos and photos on.
