Let’s hunt on Product Hunt

It’s another week of Product Hunt recaps! This week was a little busier than normal, and there were a lot of products which trended to the top!

If you don’t know what Product Hunt is, I wrote a little description to help you understand:

Product Hunt is a service where you can share and discover new products. The site was founded by Ryan Hoover in November of 2013, with funding from Y Combinator. The basis of the site is users submit a fresh podcast, an innovative app, other tech products, or wild gadgets. From there other users upvote the products onto the front page. The whole process feels a lot like Reddit but with a focus towards discovering products within the technology community.

I’m active on Product Hunt as @leonhitchens, where you can follow me!

Let’s hunt together!

Hunts

Beme 1.0

Beme is from YouTuber Casey Niestat, which is meant to stop you from staring at a screen when you film. Instead, users place the screen onto their chest to record a moment which is then shared instantly to Beme. The idea is fabulous, but the first app from them wasn’t as great as Casey wanted. The new Beme 1.0 is improved and makes sharing much more fun!

Head over to Beme and follow me as @leonhitchens!

Giphy Keys

I’m in love with GIF’s because they’re the best way to show a reaction to anything. Typing words can only say so much, but when you include a GIF you convey your emotion, and it’s something everyone understands these days. The Giphy team launched a GIF keyboard which lets you quickly send GIFs to anyone in any app!

Reset Plug

If you have a router in your apartment or house, you’ve experienced the internet dropping out and having to unplug and replug the device in. It’s a pain in the butt and has become something relatively normal for me and thousands of others. The Rest Plug is a product that’s going to solve our internet router problems. The plug connects to your wifi, and when it detects a connection problem it will turn the router off and on every 5 minutes until the problems resolved!

What a basic, yet ingenious idea!

The Freelancer

If you’ve wondered what freelancers struggle with, do from day to day, or how they get clients, the Freelancer podcast is for you. The stories told on the podcast are from freelancers around the world, and they tell a story to help other freelancers conquer similar struggles.

COD: Infinite Warfare

The newest installment of Call of Duty is going to come November 4, 2016. The latest games are splitting the community into two camps: one who think they game is pushing the franchise forward, and the other camp wanted an old school game like Modern Warfare. Instead, they have an even more futuristic game which includes zero gravity gameplay and a dystopian story line.

The game will skip the PS3 Xbox 360, and take full advantage of the Xbox One and Ps4.
