Samsung sends out invites to ‘Unpacked’ event to unveil Galaxy S7

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge rumors likely mean Samsung will announce their newest flagship phone at their upcoming February 21 Unpacked event in Barcelona, Spain. The announcement comes a day before the start of Mobile World Congress. The rumors and leaks show a Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that closely resemble the Galaxy S6 line.

We know how the hardware will look and the internals specifications of the phones are, but the software is where Samsung likes to tweak to make the phones stand out from other Android devices. The S7 and S7 Edge will likely have a 12-megapixel back camera, which would be less than the 16-megapixels on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The rumors also say their will be two models of the phone. One with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and another with a Samsung-built Exynos chip. The Exynos chip will likely become the international version.

We’ll see the newest Galaxy device in a few weeks, and what cooky things Samsung has done to try to make their phones stand out. The S7 will have to compete with the iPhone 7 expected to come out late this fall. The iPhone will likely lack a headphone jack, and be the thinnest phone yet.
