Selfie Sticks are banned from Disney theme parks

Disney won’t allow selfie sticks at their parks, including Disneyland, Disney World, and other Disney theme parks across the world. The alternatives to the selfie stick include your arm, a stranger, or even park employees. The selfie stick posed a risk for park goers who used the stick during park rides and in moving vehicles around the parks.

“We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately selfie-sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast,” a Disney World spokeswoman said.

The people who use the selfie sticks are most times unaware of their surroundings, and they can cause a lot of commotion when using it. “No selfie stick” signs have been post around the Disney parks, but they have been posted near rides. The ban takes effect on June 30, and will attempt to keep the parks the happiest place on earth.
