Hulu saves ‘The Mindy Project’

As Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu all compete to be the top streaming network and have exclusive shows that draw viewers into their services. Hulu grabbed ‘The Mindy Project’ that was canceled by Fox last week. The show ran 3 seasons on traditional TV, and will live on for a 26 episode season 4.

“Mindy has been a beloved member of the Hulu family, so this deal is a natural extension of our relationship,” said Craig Erwich, Hulu’s senior vice president and head of content, in a statement. “With so many of her fans already catching up and tuning in to the series on Hulu, we know her millions of fans will be eager to find out what Mindy has in store for the next chapter.”

The next season doesn’t have a debut day set, and sources say that Hulu is still working out all the small details still. Hulu noted that ‘The Mindy Project’ has been a top show since its 2012 release, and consistently remained popular.

“I am thrilled The Mindy Project has found a new home on Hulu, where so many of our fans are already watching the show. It’s such an exciting place to be,” Kaling said in a statement.
