Microsoft Band Wearable Leaked Ahead of Announcement

Microsoft is rumored to release a fitness tracker, and its appeared to be leaked via is syncing app. A Microsoft Band Sync app has appeared in the Mac App, Google Play, and Windows Phone Store today. The app indicates company’s new wearable will simply be named Microsoft Band when it debuts.

According to the Google Play, Windows Phone Store and iTunes listings, it seems to have more in common with Nike’s FuelBand than the platforms we’ve seen from Apple and Google so far. That includes tracking steps, heartbeat, calories burned and sleep quality. Smartphone notification support appears to include email messages, calendar reminders, phone calls received, text messages, Twitter and Facebook notifications, weather, and stocks information.

The band will support iOS, Android, Windows, and appears that it will also sync with Mac’s and PC’s making the device one of the most open fitness trackers around. This leak means we will likely see an announcement from Microsoft this week, unless this slip is way ahead of its release.

Tell us if you’ll buy the Microsoft band or if you’ll go with another fitness tracker that’s out in the market currently in the comments below.
