Apple Now Owns Beats Electronics
The Apple/Beats acquisition is done.
Iovine, co-founder of Beats Audio, mentioned that he initially approached Apple, although the two companies have been in contact for the last decade. “I told Eddy, ‘we should work together, I’ve got some ideas.’ How does somebody date for ten years and all of a sudden you get married? It just happens!”
HP can develop new Beats-bundled products through 2014, and it’s allowed to sell those products through the end of the 2015. In other words, we’ll be seeing HP laptops, desktops and tablets with beats branding for the next year and a half. Its reported HP is taking advatage of this and starting to develop a few lines of devices to be sold through 2015.
