LG G3 Officially Announced

The LG G3 was announced today at a event in London. Most of the rumors about it turned out to be true, which means this phone is a hardware beast. The LG G3 has a 5.5-inch display with the Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) display. It sports a Snapdragon 801 chip clocked at 2.5 GHz plus 2GB of RAM running Android Kit Kat, though despite these red-hot components our unit came with a paltry 16GB of storage. The removable 3,000 mAh battery is nice and big to keep the phone running all day, and includes SD card support to help alleviate that storage problem. The camera is 13 megapixels with OIS and tap to focus, and the infrared laser auto focus. This is something we’ll have to play around with to see how well it works.

On the design side the phone is all metal, a feature that we love, and still keeps the volume and power button on the back face plate. The phone also comes in four different colors, something that HTC has done with the HTC One. Overall the phone is a beauty to look at and the internals make this an absolute speed demon, ready to tackle anything. LG has also made some UI tweaks to the skin on top of Android, these change make the OS simpler and in LG’s words easier to navigate.

LG is already marketing the device as a simple but smart. What do you think about the new phone? Leave your comments below.
