Revenge Porn Site Founder Hunter Moore Arrested by FBI

Time is reporting that revenge porn site co-founder Hunter Moore has been arrested in conjunction with a conspiracy in which Evens hacked users’ computers to obtain nude photos, which were then sold to Moore and posted on Is Anyone Up. According to Time’s Jessica Roy, the indictment names Moore and an accomplice named Charles Evens in a conspiracy to “access a protected computer without authorization to obtain information for private financial gain,” along with other charges.

The arrest occurred in California where new laws where just passed strict laws which target revenge porn sites. Moore recently lost a  quarter-million-dollar defamation lawsuit over his website. It should be noted that some hacking was involved so some charges could come for that which can also carry hefty fines. As the United States government targets more online sites people are begin to find new ways to conduct illegal activities. However, more sites move their servers overseas and to domains the U.S. cannot seize.

The NSA have reach all over the United States, but who will enforce laws over the internet? The internet is still the wild west, and we need to find a way to enforce some laws. Along with the media industry needing to change with the internet. Overall we need to start cracking down on sites like Is Anyone up, and find a legal way to seize these sites.
