iPad Air Announced

Apple just took the wraps off its 5th generation iPad, which is now named the iPad Air. Apple said it measures just 7.5mm thin, 20 percent thinner than the fourth generation iPad. It also weighs just 1 pound. It’s sporting a new 64-bit A7 processor and the new M7 co-processor. It also boasts a 43 percent thinner bezel and a 20-percent thinner profile, on top of that it’s just 7.5mm thick!

The 5-megapixel iSight camera is capable of shooting 1080p video, and the FaceTime camera on the front includes “larger pixels” and a backside-illuminated sensor for better image quality. The changes are huge, it makes the newest iPad 42 time faster then the original iPad. The WiFi version will sell for $499, while the 3G/4G version sell for $629. The battery is supposed to last 10 hours, which is a small improvement over previous models. The iPad Air will be available in 4 colors which include silver, white, space gray and black.
