Otterbox releases new Preserver Series waterproof cases for iPhone 5/5s/5c

Today Otterbox sent out a press release announcing it’s new series of cases for the iPhone 5s, 5c, and 5 models with waterproof protection as well as full Touch ID support.

The Preserver Series case appears to be a descendant of the popular Lifeproof case that Otterbox acquired earlier this year.

The company claims that the cases are fully submersible to 6.6 feet for 30 minutes, and protect against drops up to 6.6 feet.

“About 70 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered in water, and technology is almost as pervasive,” said OtterBox CEO Brian Thomas. “We take our smartphones with us everywhere, and OtterBox is dedicated to making these activities as worry-free as possible. The Preserver Series is dependable, seriously waterproof protection that you can trust.”

The two-piece case snaps together for easy installation. It boasts a solid plastic frame lined with device-cradling foam and overmolded bumpers to absorb and deflect shock away from the device inside. The built-in screen protector guards the vibrant display from scratches without inhibiting touch sensitivity.”

The new case will be available soon for $89.95. Want to be alerted when they’re available? Sign up here. Preserver Series cases are currently available for the iPhone 5 in 4 colors, but do not support Touch ID.

So will you be getting the new Preserver Series case for your brand new iPhone? Or are you a naked-phone user (not literally) ?
