HTC One Max Has a HUGE Screen and Fingerprint Scanner

With all of these new, massive phones coming out on the market, I always have a flashback thinking to the time when creating a 4-inch screen sized phone was just a ridiculous idea. Of course, after using these bigger screens, people realized it wasn’t so bad, and actually demanded a larger and larger screen, until we had the Notes come out. The Galaxy Note 3 boasts a 5.7-inch screen, which is pretty massive, but not when you compare it to the newly-announced HTC One Max. This thing has a 5.9-inch screen, actually border-lining the small tablet section, making this a true “phablet”!

I’ve yet to try out the Note 3, but I have played around with the Note 2, which has a 5.5-inch screen, and even that I thought was a dinosaur! I can’t even imagine what this new phone would look like holding it up to your ear to talk to someone! But of course, at the same time, I did like all of that real-estate available for the multi-window functionality, which is where I could see this crazy screen size being of use!

Now, what would a new phone be without copying someone else’s innovation? Of course, I’m talking about the fingerprint scanner that was brand new to the iPhone 5s earlier this year. Well, it turns out that HTC decided to stick one of those on the back of their One Max right under the camera (a bit awkward if you ask me). I can see this sensor becoming a staple in the newest fleet of smartphones coming out in the next year or two, with both of these large companies adding it to their flagships. We’ll just have to wait and see how this one performs compared to the iPhone’s version!

In the meantime, take a look at HTC’s teaser for the new One Max:
