GTA Online launches at 7am ET

It’s no secret that Rockstar is releasing Grand Theft Auto’s Online multiplayer mode tomorrow, Oct 1st. The online game play will require a small update that will push out around 7am ET on both the Playstation and Xbox network. The Online story line is placed a few months before the GTA V’s single player story.

Rockstar also answer questioned around the ability to purchase in game money with real currency.  The game creators said there will be limits and users will have to earn their way. No one can start playing tomorrow and buy their way to the top. You’ll still have to play along, rob cars, perform heist, and so on. There’s still a little cloudy understand on how the game will perform, and if it will hold up to everyone’s expectations.

“No one can begin GTA Online and simply spend a lot of money out of the gate to get a leg up,” Rockstar says. “You will have to earn your stripes and play to unlock access to the aspirational clothes, guns and other items. Please also remember that in GTA Online, hustling to afford the finer things by earning GTA$ doing robberies, stick-ups, winning races and other profitable activities is a fun gameplay experience rather than ever being a ‘grind.'”

I’m also a little concerned with how many players will be accessing the online game tomorrow, and if Rockstar will be able to handle all the traffic on the game. GTA V has already sold $1 billion worth of games, so you can only imagine how many people are waiting to get online to this world. The single player mode was fairly short, and many were able to finish it within a sitting. We’ll have to wait and see tomorrow how the online mode works, and if it can handle all the traffic. Tell us if you’ll be waiting around for the online mode to be pushed out?
