Samsung Galaxy Gear SmartWatch

The Samsung Galaxy Gear is official after being announced at a press conference in Berlin. The smartwatch is design to work with the Note 3 and will lunch in a 149 countries on September 25th.  The Gear includes an 800MHz processor, a 315mAh battery, BSI sensor, and autofocus lens to capturing 1.9-megapixel stills and 10-second video clips at 720p, 640 x 640 or VGA resolution with sound. The Watch does not have a price or any idea on how long the battery will last.

The Gear will come equipped with 70 plus native apps that include some large names. There will be Path on the device at launch that will allow users to share straight to the app, along with RunKeeper, MyFitnessPal, Phigolf all embracing the new model. SnapChat will even get in on the mix and use the built in camera to take pictures and send them to people, or view them on your wrist. The ideas are endless, but the battery life seems to be short. We know there will be a lot of developer support, but you’ll only be able to use the watch with a Galaxy Note 3 that limits the market extremely.

Hopefully the Watch will support more phones, even iPhones soon. The Gear runs a version of Android so it will be easy to build apps for the watch, and allow more support for the device. We’ll have to wait and see if Apple releases anything on September 10th. Tell us in the comments below what you think about this new Smartwatch! Will you stick with the Pebble or try out this Gear?

  1. Samsung is the first company that introduces such kinds of smart watches and make crazy to many peoples. We can clearly see the technology and its advancement in this post so if you need more info then join us.

    • Samsung was not the first, but they were able to sale a lot and attract normal consumers to the product. Which Pebble has yet to do, because other smartwatch take a lot of skill to maintain and operate.
