Amazon made their first drone delivery in the UK

It’s happening; We can soon order something from Amazon and have it delivered by drones. It means I can order some hot pockets and have them delivered in less than half an hour. Amazon announced

Amazon announced they successfully completed its first drone-powered shipment, with plans for more to follow in the coming months. They delivered a Fire TV and a bag of popcorn to a customer in the vicinity of Cambridge, UK. The company will only ship items that weigh under 5lbs and can be delivered under 30 minutes.

The drone delivery will all be made in the UK where drone regulation is less strict. The UK lets drone operators fly multiple drones at once, but also lets the drones out of their sites – all of which are against regulations in the US.

GPS guides the Prime Air drones, but customers can also place a special QR code on the ground to destinate a particular landing location.

With Amazon pushing fast on drone delivery, hopefully, Domino’s will start testing their drone delivery service. Tell us in the comments what you think about the Prime Air starting deliveries in the UK.
