NES Classic gets Bluetooth support with a $40 accessory

Nintendo’s NES Classic Edition sold out in mere minutes when it went out sale through Amazon. If you were able to get your hands on the classic gaming console; you’ve found out the biggest flaw of the console was the controller cable was entirely too short, forcing you to sit extraordinarily close to your tv.

8Bitdo’s Retro Reciever lets you ditch the short cable by using Bluetooth and adding an extra two face and shoulder buttons. Furthermore, the Bluetooth receiver allows you to use any Bluetooth controller. Meaning you could play Super Mario with a PS4 or Xbox One controller, which many purists might say is blasphemy.

The receiver cost $40, which bumps up the price of the NES from $60 to $100. If you’ve managed to pick up the NES, you might decide to buy the receiver which ships December 16, through Amazon.
