Canary Flex is a multi-use outdoor and indoor camera

Canary introduced there all-in-one security cam, air monitor, and siren a while back. Since the launch of the Canary, Nest has updated their Nest Cam and added the Nest Cam Outdoor; all direct competitors to Canary’s single camera. Canary isn’t standing by, though; the Canary Flex is the first of it’s kind indoor, outdoor camera that you can use through a power supply or with its built-in battery. The unique design of the Flex allows you move the camera from the babies bedroom, to the back patio, or anywhere in between.

The Flex addresses the issues consumers have had with the Canary sitting in one area of the home, and not being ‘flexible’ enough to watch multiple areas when needed. With the needs of consumers constantly changing from having to watch the babies bedroom at night to trying to figure out what’s destroying the garden at night.

Along with the new product, Canary also introduce a monthly/yearly membership. Nest has a similar membership service, but Canary’s membership includes dedicated support agents, 30-day video history, and insurance deductible assistance. Considering the $100 a year price; the insurance deductible assistance is a great gap insurance if theft happens. Overall, they’re focused on security by helping you and your family get back to normal life as quickly as possible.

Tim Hoover, VP of product and design at Canary answer the question many of us are wonder; How does the Canary Flex compare to cameras like the Nest.

–Nest Outdoor Cam has to be plugged in at all times. Canary Flex has an extended life rechargeable battery so you can use it plugged in or wire-free.

–Nest makes you pay extra to watch more than three hours of video history, or to recognize people. Canary gives you 24 hours for free, along with unlimited downloads, and our computer vision works for everyone, for free.

–Nest streams 24/7, which can hog bandwidth and requires scrolling through footage to find out what happened. Canary records when there is motion to identify meaningful information and sends you intelligent notifications.

–We’re better looking 🙂
