Let’s Hunt on Product Hunt

Each week I round up the best product on Product Hunt for you to check out. There are dozens of new podcasts, hundreds of new apps, and many more products launched on Product Hunt Each week. It’s hard to keep up, but luckily for you, I spend most my day lurking on the site. There were many more hunts I wanted to include, but these were the top ones I loved.

If you don’t know what Product Hunt is, I wrote a little description to help you understand:

Product Hunt is a service where you can share and discover new products. The site was founded byRyan Hoover in November of 2013, with funding from Y Combinator. The basis of the site is users submit a fresh podcast, an innovative app, other tech products, or wild gadgets. From there other users upvote the products onto the front page. The whole process feels a lot like Reddit but with a focus towards discovering products within the technology community.

I’m active on Product Hunt as @leonhitchens, where you can follow me!

Let’s hunt together!

Product Hunt Daily

Product Hunt humble start was an email newsletter, and till this day they’ve been sending out a newsletter as a daily, weekly, and even monthly recap with top products. They create list and collections for back to school or other trending topics on the site, but all of the emails are fun and very enjoyable. Starting today, those email newsletters are going to become more personalized. You’re not able to see who’s upvoting, who’s posting, or who’s making products. It’ll also post interesting topics based on collections or topics you follow.

Sweatcoin

Sweatcoin is a new iOS app that rewards you with a digital currency for only walking. Every 1,000 steps equal one Sweatcoin that you can later trade in for goods, service, or give to charity. The idea of the app is to get you to move more and keep you healthy, all the while, you’re earning rewards. The app in the future may sell location data or other info to turn a profit, but for now, your data isn’t being shared. If you have an iPhone, you can start to reward yourself for just walking around.

Teespring Direct

Teespring has been a great place to order shirts, but you needed to get friends or family also to order the shirt. It was grand if you wanted to have everyone pay for a shirt, but sometimes you’d like to print a shirt and just sell it to everyone in person. Now Teespring is allowing everyone to print shirts and have them shipped to themselves directly. No middle man and the cost are low because Teespring owns almost all of the processes already. I am looking at printing shirts now and look forward to getting more shirts randomly printed for myself or others.

Blackbox

Shipping is an impossible task, and the makers behind Cards Against Humanities understands the pain. This is why they launched a shipping company for independent creators. They’ll help you sell and ship products to your fans for a fraction of the cost, which saves you money and help keep cost low. They’ve already sent thousand of boxes around the world, and they’re using it with their products already!

Tesla Model S P100D

Tesla Model S P100D is now the quickest car in production! The car can go from 0-60MPH in 2.5 seconds, faster than Usain Bolt. While million dollar cars are faster they’ve all been limited runs and cannot be bought new. This makes Tesla claims valid, even though they are a little work around. Either way, for an electric car Tesla, is making the cars more appealing and even faster with longer ranges.

Proxy

Everyone has encountered doors with access cards or key fobs, that can get lost or hard to get out when your hands are full. Now Proxy is working towards making access cards a thing of the past. The access lives in the cloud, and with a simple app on a employee, tentent, or guests phone they can have access to a door or whole building. The pricing is low, and doesn’t require new doors or lots of equipment. You’re now able to access the office or apartment effortlessly.

Betafy

Finding beta users for a new project or service isn’t an easy task. In fact, convincing new users to sign up for the next big thing is almost impossible. You need info like emails, names, and phone numbers which most users aren’t willing to give up. Betafy is a service full of users willing to beta test a new app or service, where they give up that info and give you feedback. The first round of beta testers are important because they provide content and feedback before normal users start using the service.
