Microsoft unveiled a new Xbox One with 1TB of space along with a new Xbox One controller. The controller has a 3.5mm audio jack so it can support any set of headphones. The new console will sell for $399, and, for a limited time, it will be bundled with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The $399 price doesn’t include the Kinect, and Microsoft didn’t release one the Kinect prices.
The new controller will soon be included with all Xbox One either 500GB or 1TB. The controller also includes other improvements including the ability to update wirelessly and new bumpers that can easily be pushed anywhere.

With the updated controller, in addition to the volume and mute controls on gaming headsets, you’ll also have the option to adjust headset volume, mic monitoring, and voice and game audio balance through the Settings menu on your console. We’ve also improved the quality of audio coming through the controller and increased the maximum audio volume on headsets used with this controller, based on fan feedback. All existing controller accessories will work with the updated controller, including the Stereo Headset Adapter for those who want the convenience of fingertip control for their audio. In addition to audio improvements, we’ve fine-tuned the bumpers for more consistent performance anywhere along the full surface of the bumper. And we’ve enabled wireless firmware updates on the updated controller which eliminates having to connect the controller via USB cable to receive updates.

The new controller looks really helpful, unfortunately this news comes days after I buy my Xbox One… Already have two controllers so it looks like I won’t be getting one of the new ones anytime soon.
I know the news was out of the blue, but I think I want to buy the controller for the headphone jack. Wish there was some sort of trade in program for the new controller.
How would they make more money though 😉
