Periscope now lets you find streams on a map

Users are streaming from all over the world on Periscope, and each stream has location tags. A new update to Periscope allows users to search for streams on a map. Map View replaces the current “Global” section, which you can reach by tapping the earth icon at the bottom of the app’s homescreen.

The update is only available for the iOS update, but should arrive on Android in the next update. The other updates include video streams automatically uploading for instant replays,  though you can still delete them later. It’s also now possible to share others stream directly to Twitter similar to how you directly tweet when you go live.

The updates are trying to keep users on its platform and away from Meerkat. The big updates are coming weeks apart and making the platform more appealing. Meerkat is falling further behind as the Twitter owned company works hard to stay on top.

Tell us in the comments below what you think about the Periscope update and being able to find streams on a map.
