Google “Cast for Audio” will be announced at CES 2015

Google wants to compete with Apple Air Play via their “Google Cast for Audi” which will build off of Google’s Chromecast that lunch a little over a year ago. Using Google Cast for audio will be as simple and built in the same manner as Google’s Chromecast. The big players that want to work with Cast for Audio include Pandora, Rdio, TuneIn, Deezer, Google Play, and YouTube Music.

LG already announced speakers that will work with Google Cast, and among the big players with include Sony and Heos with more coming through 2015. Google also says it plans to build cast for audio into Android TV, televisions, and gaming consoles.

Google is said to announce this sometime during CES. Then they should bring a date that it will be available to everyone and what these systems will cost. Google has a lot of competition from Apple’s Air Play, but should be easy if the price is right like the Chromecast was.
