Ray-Ban & Oakley are working to support Google Glass

The company behind Ray-Ban and Oakley, Luxottica announced today that it will be working with Google to introduce current styles that have Google Glass integrated. Oakley which has led the way with futuristic designs will soon offer designs that will come with Google Glass attached or attachable.

“We have come to a point where we now have both a technology push and a consumer pull for wearable-technology products and applications,” Andrea Guerra, CEO of Luxottica Group, said in a statement. “We believe it is high time to combine the unique expertise, deep knowledge and quality of our Group with the cutting-edge technology expertise of Google and give birth to a new generation of revolutionary devices.”

We won’t see anything from the companies soon, but this could be a sign of what Google plans to do with its new technology. It wants to make Glass available to everyone, but with the ugly look and the possibility of public back lash Google has treed lightly. Though their is no price point we don’t think they will be priced anywhere close to the explorer edition which was priced $1,500.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with them as we look to push Glass and the broader industry forward into the emerging smart eyewear market,” Astro Teller, Google vice-president and head of Google X, said in a statement.
